Using a Jumbotron for Music Bingo

Choose your display setup

Use a TV with a suitable web browser, a computer connected to a TV or projector, or a second monitor. The display needs access to BingoBeats over the internet.

With a second screen connected to your computer, use your operating system's extended-display mode if you want the audience screen separate from your host controls. Move the Jumbotron browser window to that screen.

Keep the host game and music system running. Opening a Jumbotron does not transfer music playback to the TV.

Connect a TV using a short code

1. Open Jumbotron settings from your hosting area and select Generate TV Code.
2. On the TV's browser, open https://bingobeats.top/tv.
3. Enter the displayed TV code and select Open Jumbotron.
4. Check the correct game appears, then use the browser or display's full-screen controls if available.

Use the full display link instead

Jumbotron settings also provides the display link with Copy and Open controls. Open is convenient when setting up a second browser window on the host computer.

For another computer, copy the full link and open it there. Share the audience display link only with people who need to operate that screen.

Keep TV codes, display links, player joining details and Host Remote pairing details separate. Players should scan the player QR code shown on the display.

Choose what the audience sees

• Show the player QR code when you want guests to join from the screen.
• Choose whether to show game statistics, such as player count, host name, target and songs called.
• Choose whether to show the playlist name, recent winners and recently called songs.
• Check the result on the actual TV after adjusting options; readability across the room matters more than how it looks on your laptop.

Test from the audience's position

1. Stand where guests will sit and check that the text and QR code are readable.
2. Scan the displayed player QR code with a phone to confirm it leads to the intended game.
3. During a practice game, advance a song and confirm the audience display updates.
4. Check screen sleep settings, browser zoom and any TV picture setting that crops the edges. Finish the practice game before the event.

If the screen does not update

Check internet access on both the display and host device, then confirm the host is in the intended active game. An idle or ended-game screen can be expected when no game is running.

Reload the display page if its connection has stalled. For a rejected TV code, generate a fresh code and enter it at /tv.

If the TV browser cannot load the page reliably, try a current browser on a computer connected to the screen. Keep audio troubleshooting on the computer or device actually playing the music.
