Before you begin
BingoBeats runs in your browser. The optional Windows connector links your game to VirtualDJ, which plays music stored on your computer.
Have VirtualDJ installed, a BingoBeats host account, and the music files needed for your selected playlist. Run VirtualDJ and the connector on the same Windows computer.
The connector download contains the BingoBeats helper and plugin. VirtualDJ and music files are obtained separately.
Download options are available below under “Download and install” when JavaScript is enabled.
1. Download and install
Choose the connector package that matches your VirtualDJ installation: 32-bit or 64-bit. The 64-bit package is currently labeled as a test release.
Extract the entire ZIP into a folder. Close VirtualDJ, then follow the included plugin installation instructions.
Open VirtualDJ and run BingoBeatsConnector.exe from the extracted folder.
2. Create your BingoBeats game
Sign in to BingoBeats and choose your playlist. Make sure you have the corresponding songs available on your computer.
Choose VirtualDJ Connector as the playback option when creating the game.
Open the game's Settings page and find the VirtualDJ Connector section.
3. Pair the connector
Select Pair Connector in Game Settings. Enter the displayed pairing code into the Windows connector.
Use the code before its countdown expires. If it expires, generate another code.
Check that Game Settings reports the connector as paired and online. Keep the Windows connector running while you host.
4. Check your local music
Choose your music folder in the connector and scan it.
Review the song matches before starting the game. Check both the song title and artist so the correct recording is selected.
Resolve missing or incorrect matches before inviting players. If you change your music files or their location, scan again.
5. Test before your event
Run a practice game and check that the expected song plays in VirtualDJ when you use the BingoBeats host controls.
Try pause, resume, and Next. Check your speaker output and confirm the displayed song agrees with the music you hear.
Finish the practice game before creating your event's game. Keep your music folder and any external drive available throughout the event.
Troubleshooting
The pairing code expired. What do I do?
Return to Game Settings, select Pair Connector again, and enter the new code into the connector.
Why is the VirtualDJ section missing from Settings?
Check the playback option used to create this game. The VirtualDJ settings appear for games using VirtualDJ Connector.
The connector is online, but a song will not play.
Check that VirtualDJ is open, the included plugin installation is complete, and the song has a valid local match. Also check VirtualDJ's audio output and that the music drive is connected.
Does the ZIP include music or the BingoBeats website?
No. The ZIP contains the Windows connector and VirtualDJ plugin. BingoBeats runs in your browser, and you supply the music stored on your computer.
