The BingoBeats Player turns your host browser into a Spotify playback device named BingoBeats Player. The computer running that browser supplies the sound. Choose this mode when you want to run the game and Spotify music from the same browser session.
What you need
Spotify requires Premium for its browser playback SDK. Test your particular browser and output before a game; browser media restrictions can prevent playback even after an account connects.
- A BingoBeats host account connected to your Spotify Premium account.
- A browser that supports Spotify's Web Playback SDK and protected media playback, plus a working internet connection.
- Your host computer connected to the intended speakers or audio interface, with browser sound allowed.
- Songs available through Spotify. This player streams Spotify tracks; it does not scan or play your local music folder.

1. Connect Spotify in Account
Connecting Spotify is an account step. The BingoBeats Player itself starts later when you open a game created with that playback method. You do not need to install the VirtualDJ Connector or create your own Spotify developer application.
- Sign into BingoBeats and open Account, then find Spotify.
- Select Connect Spotify and sign into the Premium account you intend to use. Approve the connection in Spotify's sign-in window.
- Return to BingoBeats and check CONNECTED and the account name. If the sign-in window was blocked, allow that popup and try again.
2. Select your playlist and BingoBeats Player
- Open Select Music and choose a playlist with playable Spotify tracks. You can use an appropriate built-in playlist or a list available in Spotify Playlists.
- Review the song list, then continue to Playback Method.
- Choose BingoBeats Player. Complete gameplay setup and the lobby flow, then open the host game.
- Wait for the player to connect. PLAYER STARTING... changes to START GAME when the player is ready and the game has loaded.
3. Check the browser's sound output
For this mode, changing the computer's audio output changes where the browser is heard. Choosing a different Spotify Connect device transfers Spotify playback elsewhere; it does not configure the browser's speaker output.
- On the host computer, choose the speakers, headphones or audio interface that should receive browser audio. Check your operating system's output settings and volume mixer.
- Make sure the BingoBeats tab is not muted and the site can play sound. Check the speaker or mixer volume as well.
- Keep this host browser open and awake. A player phone, Host Remote or Jumbotron is not a replacement for the browser producing the music.
- If you inspect Spotify's device picker, look for BingoBeats Player. Avoid transferring playback away from it during the round.
4. Start and test playback
- Once START GAME is available, select it directly in the host browser. Check that you hear the song displayed in the game.
- Use Next in the host game and confirm that the next displayed song is also the song you hear.
- Test Pause and Play. A resume should continue playback; use Next when you actually want another called song.
- Try your chosen timer interval and Auto setting during this practice game, then finish it and create a fresh game before players join.
5. Use the host controls during the round
A song can start at a saved start point rather than at its beginning. The game timer controls the hosting interval; it is not the same thing as Spotify's track progress.
Keep one host game session in control of playback. If you use the Host Remote, leave the host computer and browser running. Closing the browser, putting the computer to sleep or losing connectivity can interrupt the music.

6. Finish the game
Select FINISH GAME. STOP MUSIC & END ROUND requests a stop as the round ends. KEEP MUSIC PLAYING & END ROUND leaves playback running while ending the bingo round.
The keep-playing option does not make playback independent of the browser or start a new round. Keep the browser running if you still want its music, and verify the sound after ending.
Troubleshooting the BingoBeats Player

| A song is unavailable | If the game says the song is unavailable, check the playlist's track data. Try that recording in Spotify; not every listed or local-file track can be streamed by this player. Prepare an available replacement before the next game. |
| Player disconnected or device was lost | Restore connectivity and return to the host game. If it does not recover, note the game code and current song, then refresh the host page once. Wait for readiness and verify game state and playback before continuing. |

Common questions
Is BingoBeats Player a separate music subscription?
This playback mode uses Spotify and requires your connected Spotify Premium account. It does not provide a separate audio catalog.
Do I need the Spotify desktop app open?
The browser player produces the music, so a separate desktop player is not required for its audio. Spotify's app can still help you inspect playback devices.
Will music play through the TV or player phones?
This mode outputs through the host browser's computer. Opening a Jumbotron or a bingo card does not transfer that music to the other device.
Can I play downloaded Spotify songs or my local folder offline?
No. This browser-player workflow requires online Spotify playback. For your own local audio files, use the custom-folder and VirtualDJ or External Player guides.
Can I switch modes without creating another game?
Choose the playback method while creating the game. If you need a different method, finish the current round deliberately and set up a new game.
