Spotify Classic is the Spotify Playback option in BingoBeats. BingoBeats controls the game's songs while a Spotify app or Spotify Connect device supplies the sound. Follow this guide when your music should come from that device rather than the BingoBeats browser player.
First: Open Spotify and play a song
Before starting a Spotify Classic game, open the Spotify app on the device you will use for music. Sign into the same Spotify account connected to BingoBeats, then play a song directly in Spotify so the playback device is active.
Confirm you can hear the song through your intended speakers. Keep Spotify open, then return to BingoBeats and choose Spotify Playback.
What you need
Spotify's playback-control API requires Premium. Connecting the account gives BingoBeats permission to request playback; it does not by itself make a device ready or confirm that sound is reaching your speakers.
- Your BingoBeats host account and a Spotify Premium account connected to it.
- A Spotify playback device signed into that same Spotify account, with working internet and an audio connection to your speakers.
- A playlist whose songs are available through Spotify. A folder of local audio files is a different playback workflow.

1. Connect your Spotify account
- Sign into BingoBeats and open Account. Find the Spotify section.
- Select Connect Spotify. In the sign-in window, use the Premium account that will also be signed into your playback device, then approve the requested access.
- Return to Account and check that Spotify shows CONNECTED. Check the displayed account name before continuing.
- If no sign-in window opens, check your browser's popup controls and allow the connection window for BingoBeats, then try again.
2. Make the correct Spotify device active
Select the output in Spotify; the Playback Method dialog in BingoBeats chooses the playback mode, not a speaker. If Account displays a saved Playback device, check that it is the device you intend to use. A saved device can affect where BingoBeats sends playback, so a different active device alone may not resolve an old saved-device problem.
- Open Spotify on the device connected to your speakers and confirm it uses the account you connected to BingoBeats.
- Play a track directly in Spotify. Listen through the actual speakers you will use and adjust the device, system and speaker volumes.
- If sound should come from another Spotify Connect device, open Spotify's device picker and select that device. Confirm the sound moved to the intended output.
- Keep the playback device awake and Spotify available. Return to BingoBeats to set up the game.
3. Choose music and select Spotify Playback
- Open Select Music in BingoBeats. Choose a built-in playlist with Spotify tracks, or open a playlist from the Spotify Playlists section when your connected account's playlists are available.
- Review the song list before continuing. Use tracks that can actually play on your connected Spotify account.
- Continue to Playback Method and choose Spotify Playback. This is the button for the Classic workflow.
- Complete gameplay setup and the lobby flow, then open the host game. Check your winning target before admitting players for a real round.
4. Run a short practice game
- Select START GAME and listen for the song shown in the host game. A changing song title alone is not proof that Spotify started playing.
- Use the host game's Next control and verify that the audible song changes to match the new displayed song.
- Pause and resume using the host controls. Check both the sound and the game timer.
- If using a Jumbotron or player phone for the test, confirm that the called-song information updates there too.
- Finish the practice game and create a fresh game for players so practice calls do not become part of their round.
5. Keep music and the game together
Let BingoBeats choose the next called song during the round. Avoid starting a separate playlist, moving playback to another device or skipping tracks in Spotify while the game is running.
The game timer is a hosting interval, not a promise to play every track to its end. A track can start at a saved start point when that song has one. Use a practice round to check the timing you intend to use.

6. End the round deliberately
Select FINISH GAME. Choose STOP MUSIC & END ROUND to request that playback stops, or KEEP MUSIC PLAYING & END ROUND to end the game while leaving music running. Keeping music playing does not create another bingo round or guarantee a continuing playlist.
Check the sound after ending. If Spotify is still playing when you want silence, pause it directly on the playback device.
Troubleshooting Spotify Classic

| Playback stops after a break | Wake the playback device, reopen Spotify and activate it by playing a track. Check internet access before trying the host controls again. |
| Sign-in or authorization keeps failing | Before the next round, reconnect Spotify from Account and confirm the intended Premium account. If it still fails, send support the visible error and when it occurred; do not send passwords or tokens. |
Common questions
Is Spotify Classic a separate button?
No. In the current Playback Method dialog, select Spotify Playback. Classic is the name used here to distinguish device playback from the BingoBeats Player.
Do I need the VirtualDJ Connector?
No. This mode uses your connected Spotify account and Spotify playback device.
Can players hear songs through their bingo cards?
The cards are for marking songs and submitting claims. This setup sends the music to the host's chosen Spotify output.
Can I change between Classic and BingoBeats Player during a round?
The playback method is selected when creating the game. Plan the mode before players join; use a new game if you need to choose a different method.
Does connecting Spotify prove that everything is ready?
No. Check the playback device and complete the practice sound check. Account connection, device availability and audible output are separate checks.
